Enjoy the Holidays


The holidays are officially upon us. For many people, they are a combination of joy and stress. Here is a list of some of the best tips we’ve come across for helping make this the “most wonderful time of the year.

  1. Determine what’s truly important to you. Do you crave some downtime? Do you enjoy the hustle and bustle? Reflecting ahead of time on how you want to spend the time and who you want to spend it with will allow you to make a plan and have something to look forward to.
  2. Communicate. Share your plan with the people in your life so everyone is on the same page and there are no surprises.
  3. Gift yourself realistic and responsible limits, especially with spending and consumption.
  4. Especially if you have little ones, try to stick to time schedules and routines. An overstimulated child won’t be enjoying the festivities and it will increase your stress.
  5. Sneak in some alone time. Whether it’s to take a nap, walk the dog, or read a book- alone time will allow you to decompress.
  6. Afterward, reflect on what went well and what you may like to see for next year.
